Top 23 PHP Laravel Projects
A PHP framework for web artisans.Project mention: Absolute idiot beginner. Want to build something | reddit.com/r/CodingHelp | 2021-04-13
Reading this, my advice would be to take a look at Laravel. It’s a PHP framework with very, very beginner friendly documentation and a huge community. It’s extremely popular with web developers who are starting out, so you’ll find every conceivable question has been asked online when people get stuck— making it easy for you to Google any problems you face as you’re learning. Aside from the beginner friendliness, it makes it very easy to implement a lot of what you’re going to need for your project; user authentication, database interactions and receiving/handling/returning HTTP requests.

Personal CRM. Remember everything about your friends, family and business relationships.Project mention: Year of the Forge | reddit.com/r/Cortex | 2021-03-25
I'm also going to continue the themes of the Year of Regeneration. The forge is where long-lasting things are made. I will do everything I can to make sure that the decisions I make are long term. No short term kludges. The house we buy must work for us for at least a decade. I'll do my best to make sure this new job works in a way that means stability for my daughter. And I'm going to work to rebuild relationships with friends and family, that have suffered because everyone has been separated from each other for so long. I've started off that last one by setting myself up with Monica CRM so I can keep abreast of who I need to catch up with.

Free, open-source, self-hosted CMS platform based on the Laravel PHP Framework.Project mention: Ask HN: Your experience of using an alternative to WordPress? | news.ycombinator.com | 2021-04-09
WordPress elicits strong opinions among developers. Whatever your thoughts about WordPress, it remains the leading website builder among the myriad site builders available.
Uniquely (I think) it is the only self-hosting option which is relatively simple for non-technical users to install via one-click installers (available via hundreds of hosting companies).
What are the alternative website builders (self-hostable) that match or exceed WordPress in terms of core features? In particular, alternatives with modern codebases, with customisation, and a GUI WYSIWYG (not markdown)?
Some example, modern alternatives I'm aware of:
- October CMS (PHP, Open Source) https://octobercms.com/
- Craft CMS (PHP, Paid) https://craftcms.com/
- Kirby CMS (PHP, Paid) https://getkirby.com/
- Wagtail CMS (Python, Open Source) https://wagtail.io/
Have you used any of the above (or any other) as an alternative to WordPress? What was your experience like? And has anyone gone back to WordPress after trying an alternative? Thanks

jwt-auth provides a simple means of authentication within Laravel using JSON Web Tokens. JSON Web Token (JWT) is a compact, URL-safe means of representing claims to be transferred between two parties. The claims in a JWT are encoded as a JSON object that is used as the payload of a JSON Web Signature (JWS) structure or as the plaintext of a JSON Web Encryption (JWE) structure, enabling the claims to be digitally signed or integrity protected with a Message Authentication Code (MAC) and/or encrypted.
