Project mention: How does Elixir stack up to Julia in the future of writing machine-learning software? | reddit.com/r/Julia | 2023-05-27
Lots of this is in progress and doesn't require a 2.0. Better error messages landed last week, see https://twitter.com/ChrisRackauckas/status/1661014235466563591 which was https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/pull/49795. That makes them a ton more readable, and there's a few more of these kinds of things in process. The parser change is set to make it into v1.10, https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/pull/46372. v1.10 is supposed to branch in just a few weeks and will possibly be LTS. With that all in mind, there's a time to take stock of what has been a large amount of pretty huge changes and seeing what's next to help Julia improve static compilation.

There does exist some code for reading glyph geometry from fonts - you can find some of it in the Makie source directory: eg https://github.com/MakieOrg/Makie.jl/blob/master/src/bezier.jl - you can see that there's quite a lot though...

Today I just started read Stats with Julia (https://statisticswithjulia.org/) and I have to say as a CS and math person, I really love this book. Of course one of the reasons may be that I want to learn Julia.

Franklin.jl
(yet another) static site generator. Simple, customisable, fast, maths with KaTeX, code evaluation, optional pre-rendering, in Julia.
A few weeks ago I discovered Franklin.jl ([0], [1]). It has direct KaTeX support and I've been pleased with the results. There is no need for adding or tweaking things unlike Jekyll or Hugo. And KaTeX is faster than MathJax in general.

Project mention: Machine learning with Julia - Solve Titanic competition on Kaggle and deploy trained AI model as a web service | dev.to | 2023-02-17
First, you need to save the model from the notebook to a file. For this you can use JLD2.jl module. This module used to serialize Julia object to HDF5-compatible format (which is well known by Python data scientists) and save it to a file.
-
LanguageServer.jl
An implementation of the Microsoft Language Server Protocol for the Julia language.
-
Chain.jl
A Julia package for piping a value through a series of transformation expressions using a more convenient syntax than Julia's native piping functionality.
The [Chain.jl package](https://github.com/jkrumbiegel/Chain.jl) is becoming idiomatic for these kind of pipelines.

Project mention: Is Postgresql integration well supported in Julia? | reddit.com/r/Julia | 2022-09-27
That's deprecated for LibPQ, which in my experience works very well. 'Coverage' means the proportion of the library's source code that executes at least once when the unit tests are run - a simple measure of how well tested the code is.
