Project mention: Cicada – A FOSS, Cross-Platform Version of GitHub Actions and Gitlab CI | news.ycombinator.com | 2023-11-06I'm going to plug https://onedev.io/ its awesome. Its self hosted and has its own tooling for CI/CD. I feel it doesn't get enough love, but I've been using it for years for my own stuff.
Project mention: Apache HertzBeat(incubating) Another Prometheus, Zabbix | news.ycombinator.com | 2024-04-17It seems that the deleted post cannot be reposted due to mistaken operation. Can the administrator help to restore the deleted post? Thank you.
Hi,
This is an open-source project that I have been developing full-time for over two years.
Name HertzBeat, in terms of functionality, it is similar to Prometheus and Zabbix.
Recently, the project has just entered the Apache Foundation Incubator.
Here, I want to share it with HN readers.
In a word, it is an easy-to-use, open source, real-time monitoring system with agentless, high performance cluster, prometheus-compatible, offers powerful custom monitoring and status page building capabilities.

I hope this product is helpful and any feedback (even negative) would bring me joy.

I've been using commafeed for a few months now. The UI is closest thing to GReader I've seen. It's still light on features and no plugin option yet. But it works well and gets frequent updates.

Project mention: Ask HN: What's the stack for your "home-cooked meal" apps? | news.ycombinator.com | 2024-01-05I literally made one to scratch my itch with home cooked meals: https://www.kassner.com.br/en/2023/09/21/what-to-cook-launch...
Honestly, I don’t have “a stack”, if I’m trying to learn a new thing I’ll use that to build a new project, or if I don’t I’ll default to the most suitable option.
i.e.: What to Cook? was built in Java because I needed a refresher, otherwise I’d likely use PHP/Symfony because I could finish it quickly. If the project is non-web/fullstack, I’d default to Go. If im building something that will use React, I’d default to NodeJS+Express.
If you’re curious, i have a few write ups in the projects section of my blog
