Project mention: Show HN: Portfolio Performance An open source tool to calculate investments | news.ycombinator.com | 2023-12-28
Project mention: 2.5 Million Java Developers on Visual Studio Code. Microsoft and Red Hat shares Joint Roadmap for Next 6 Months Together | /r/java | 2023-12-11Thanks Eclipse : https://github.com/eclipse-jdtls/eclipse.jdt.ls
Project mention: NoClassDefFoundError while trying to run javafx programs made with maven. | /r/javahelp | 2023-12-08If you're relatively new to this, I would recommend checking out the JavaFX documentation at https://openjfx.io/openjfx-docs/#maven and starting from the samples: https://github.com/openjfx/samples/tree/master/HelloFX/Maven
Last month, I worked on the Java Spring Boot project, E-commerce-project-springBoot. I previously had plans to continue building on my fixes and completely fix the update products part of the app. However, since a few weeks have passed, and only one of my two pull requests have been reviewed, I decided to look elsewhere for a more active project to contribute to.
Project mention: How to draw beautiful software architecture diagrams | news.ycombinator.com | 2023-10-27Graphviz is the classic option but unfortunately it isn't very good. I mean it was great when it was written in the 80s or whatever but then it seems like it was declared "done" and is still stuck in the 80s.
Quite annoying because it totally dominates the mindshare of graph layout tools, making it difficult to find alternatives.
Here's some other options anyway:
* Eclipse Layout Kernel: https://github.com/eclipse/elk
* OGDF: https://ogdf.uos.de/
In fairness both their websites are pretty terrible (would some examples kill you OGDF?) and they don't provide an easy way to try them out, so I guess it's not that surprising that Graphviz dominates.
Anyway in practice if you have a complex graph then doing it manually is by far the best option.
If it's too big to do manually then it's unlikely to be a useful graph in the first place.
Project mention: what do you think is the best modpack of all time? (any version) | /r/feedthebeast | 2023-06-22How do you compile your mods!? I've been spoiled with Loom so far, so seeing a repository without even a buildscript is quite the major shift for me.
CrypTool has some similar capabilities in its cryptanalysis suite. https://www.cryptool.org/
I'm not horribly familiar with how the whole "AI" thing works, but I'd imagine you'd have to have a dataset trained on the ARM9 architecture for it to work. You might be better off starting blind with NTRGhidra and just poking around to see how it works.
https://github.com/salesforce/bazel-eclipse - Presumably exactly what I want, but I haven't been able to get it to work yet, and it doesn't look super active. Is anyone using this?
In case someone else wants to contribute to a mature Java library, this one could need some help: https://github.com/eclipse-platform/eclipse.platform.swt
