Open-source C++ projects categorized as TLS | Edit details

Transport Layer Security (TLS), the successor of the now-deprecated Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), is a cryptographic protocol designed to provide communications security over a computer network.

Top 7 C++ TLS Projects

  • Boost.Beast

HTTP and WebSocket built on Boost.Asio in C++11

    Project mention: boost.beast | reddit.com/r/cpp | 2022-04-17

We used beast to implement a market data server(and I think we also did a small client, to test it) which was sending protobuf messages, and it worked great(we also used boost adio, which made it very scalable). When we tested the server, we were generating around 100k messages per second(when there was the biggest activity on the market), I think I've posted here some stats: https://github.com/boostorg/beast/issues/2313.

  • Botan

    Cryptography Toolkit

    Project mention: Implementing a toy version of TLS 1.3 | news.ycombinator.com | 2022-03-23

We can relate to that! It is extremely helpful for our current efforts to implement TLS 1.3 for the Botan crypto library. Especially to get a foothold with TLS and gain a feeling for the protocol structure. Amazing work!

  • icinga2

The core of our monitoring platform with a powerful configuration language and REST API.

  • nitroshare-desktop

Network file transfer application for Windows, OS X, & Linux

Project mention: NitroShare for transfer between old & new laptop | reddit.com/r/System76 | 2022-03-16

Getting an upgrade to my four year old GalagoPro, with a new GalagoPro and want an easy way to transfer (copy) the files (not settings) from my old machine to my new machine. Was thinking of using NitroShare (https://nitroshare.net/).

  • libhttpserver

C++ library for creating an embedded Rest HTTP server (and more)

  • ESP_ATMod

ESP8266 AT Firmware (Command Processor) With TLS 1.2 Capability

Project mention: Calendar prototype with Pi Pico | reddit.com/r/raspberry_pi | 2022-03-05

For networking, I'm using ESP-AT Command Firmware, specifically this one, as it's the only one I found that fits on the small flash of ESP-07 while having TLS support needed for Google. With this firmware flashed to ESP you connect it to Pi via UART and use AT commands to tell ESP what to do. You can find the list and description of these commands in the linked repo.

  • Irrigation_Controller

Simple, minimalistic Arduino sketch for eight irrigation valves

Project mention: What is the realistic minimal power consumption of running it off a wall charger? | reddit.com/r/esp8266 | 2021-12-15
  • Scout APM

Less time debugging, more time building. Scout APM allows you to find and fix performance issues with no hassle. Now with error monitoring and external services monitoring, Scout is a developer's best friend when it comes to application development.

NOTE: The open source projects on this list are ordered by number of github stars. The number of mentions indicates repo mentiontions in the last 12 Months or since we started tracking (Dec 2020). The latest post mention was on 2022-04-17.
