Damselfly
Damselfly is a server-based Photograph Management app. The goal of Damselfly is to index an extremely large collection of images, and allow easy search and retrieval of those images, using metadata such as the IPTC keyword tags, as well as the folder and file names. Damselfly includes support for object/face detection, and face-recognition.
I query my REST endpoint to get a collection of Images back, and then deserialize them so I can render in the UI. The REST call takes a few milliseconds, but the deserialization takes 20 seconds on my 2021 14" M1 Macbook Pro - and completely freezes the browser/page while it's running. This is pretty bad, and unless it can be fixed it makes the entire WASM version of the app completely unusable.
