We're moving away from swap partitions on our Linux servers
I still have https://github.com/StuartIanNaylor/zram-swap-config but doesn't do much more than https://github.com/systemd/zram-generator#readme but I passed control of https://github.com/ecdye/zram-config as maintenance aint my strong point and it was just a protest of hey guys get this sorted.

Got my Node up and running, updated to 0.18.
I used pinodexmr to do it, then added zram-swap(easy way to manage zram, a memory compression manager on linux, also see zram-config).

ZFS native encryption is currently broken for encrypted backups
There are various issues on ZFS native encryption. ZFS native encryption has been especially buggy when raw encrypted zfs snapshots are being sent or received.

Bcachefs, an Introduction/Exploration
> btrfs Encryption Y
btrfs doesn't have a built-in encryption.
> ZFS Encryption Y
I cannot find the discussion right now but I remember reading that they were considering a warning when enabling encryption because it was not really stable but people were running into crashes.

ZFS Resilver on SMR Drives
Thank You.
... and yes - this is the problem with 'dedicated' SPARE drives - they just sit there unused and You never know if they will work when the time comes.
ZFS resolved that with DRAID where there are not 'dedicated' SPARE disks but 'spare block' spread across the disks:

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is so buggy you can't install the OS [video]
Be careful if you use ZFS-on-root, make sure not to snapshot bpool or it will brick your system and require a complete reinstall.
