yolov7 VS YOLOX

If you want something off-the-shelf, try YoloV7.

The current dictionary is still in a beta state and has only been trained on 80 words (e.g. 'man', 'dog', 'car', 'keyboard', 'book', etc.; see list of words, see dataset). I used the object detection model Yolov7 (paper, all credits to them).

(Please note, this is a re-post of my original question here, I think this subreddit might be more appropriate for asking this question)At work, we use Unity, we have a project that needs object detection and classification. We decided to use this YOLO7 model (for non-technical reasons, It had to be the exact same model as the company does have pre-trained weights for this exact model). However, Unity only supports ONNX so I exported the model as an ONNX model, using the code provided in the repo:

So I am trying to do my best and train YOLOX for an object detection case using Google Colab.

I wanted to have a few choices getting localization into image search (index and search time). I immediately thought of using a region proposal network (rpn) from mask-rcnn to create patches that can also be indexed and searched (and add the localisation). I figured it might be somewhat agnostic to classes. I did not want to use mmdetection or detectron2 due to their dependencies and just getting the rpn was not worth it. I was encouraged by the PyTorch native implementations of detection/segmentation models but ended up finding yolox the best.

Modern video can be broken into a series of still problems. AI vision models can make these types of classification in as fast as video. From what I understand the swin transformer outputs a single dimension feature vector and the yolo head takes inputs from 3 different layers from the backbone?? and I think I will need to write the backbone implementation here.
