To have the necessary VRAM the only way I've found is allocating it from the BIOS settings (some vendors lock this section so unless you're lucky or you can unlock your bios for now you won't be able to use this method, for Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14ARE05 users you can use this tool: If you have any knowledge about how to allocate a certain amount of VRAM without the need of the bios please reach me out or contribute to the WebUI code.

Thank you for the suggestion. Sadly the option is hidden in Bios and I'd have to unlock advanced menu using this And I'd rather wait till I can install Fedora than to mess with bios like that.

wait, that sounds like it's related to modern standby when I looked it up before buying it, many people complained about that, since linux doesn't really play ball with it you can disable modern standby if you unlock the BIOS, which I did under windows, but it seems some kind fellows did it under Linux as well: hope this helps

If you want fan control other and other stuff on Linux, you can use my tool . I think the embedded controller (firmware) has changed from the 2022 models (=Gen 7) to the 2023 models (=Gen 8).
  • Need an advice, which Linux is best for laptop?
    1 project | /r/linux | 24 Jun 2023
You do not need Windows and Vantage anymore. I developed a Vantage alternative for Linux to change for fan speeds, power mode, power limits etc. It comes with a GUI tool and a driver for the laptop.

    1 project | /r/LenovoLegion | 1 Jun 2023
If you have concerns that anything might influence your fan control in Windows, get a clean system by booting to Linux from a USB live system ( ) - no installation required. Then add my Linux tool for fan control, power mode etc. and try to change the fan curve. If this works, you definitely know that it works and there is some problem with either your background tasks or that your model is not (properly) supported by LegionFanControl.
  • A few questions prior to a switch
    1 project | /r/linux_gaming | 27 May 2023
Cooling is controlled by the embedded controller in the hardware. So it just works. In Windows you have tools like LegionToolkit or LegionFanControl, to change settings of it, i.e. setting the fan curves or changing power mode. I Linux you could use my tool Lenovo Legion Linux support ( ) to do the same.

You can also check if the BIOS version (only the leading letters are important) is already in the list of compatible models of my tool and kernel driver for fan control, temperatures, power mode etc.:
