A little background: I am building Wido, a router for single transaction swaps between non liquid tokens like LSTs. Without shilling too much: it has 2 independent audits and is integrated in OG web apps like yearn.finance (link).

yearn.finance vault apy's look pretty juicy. 7.91% on DAI, 3.69 USDC and 4.97% ETH...thought yield was very hard to come by rn

Yearn Finance is also among the top most popular DeFi protocols. In fact, it is an automated liquidity aggregator that provides vast opportunities for yield farming. The protocol uses its native token, dubbed YFI, which is responsible for governance. Participants must claim these tokens to participate in decision-making and acquire a pro-rata share of the decentralized App.
  • There is an airdrop available for FRZ if you've held any NFTs... the full list of qualifications are here.
    3 projects | /r/defi | 30 Jun 2022
The initial supply of FRZ is 100,000,000. Of this: The largest amount ~42,000,000 were allocated to an airdrop to 230,000+ ETH mainnet addresses that met a variety of DeFi & NFT activity conditions including: - being liquidated on AAVE - Earning WETH fees from providing [anything]/WETH liquidity on Uniswap v3 - Holding Lido Staked ETH - Donating ETH to the official Ukraine ETH address - Holding a Zapper Season 1 NFT - Holding a Yearn Finance NFT - Holding a LobsterDAO NFT - Earning a Rabbithole Educational NFT - Donating to Gitcoin grants in Seasons 7-13 - Holding a variety of Creative Commons Public Domains (CC0) NFTs including: Tubbycats, Cryptoadz, MFERs, Nouns, TinyDino, Cryptodickbutts, Chainrunner, Goblintown, and Timeless NOTE: due to practical realities of claiming an airdrop on expensive ETH mainnet, we removed addresses who earned too few FRZ from their activity to make claiming viable gas-wise. We also capped the amount of FRZ earned for those who only met 1-2 categories (i.e., some NFT whales were capped). We then smoothed the airdrop amounts to increase the minimum amounts earned of those eligible while weighting these categories at different amounts to prevent Sybil attacks (where people prep lots of addresses to be airdrop eligible). Including bonuses for meeting multiple categories with the same address.

Below is a chart showing the ratio between gas savings and batch size. It was calculated for this transaction (deposit USDC into the Curve Frax vault by yearn.finance using a Zap). The numbers will differ slightly for different transactions.

  • What happens in the background when an LP token is farmed?
    2 projects | /r/defi | 30 Jan 2022
in yearn.finance’s case, the incentive is being part of an automated vault that‘ll group the same LP tokens to pool rewards and buy more LP tokens which will produce more rewards

It looks like what we're thinking of might be what yearn.finance does. I need time to wrap around how the curve tokens work.

  • Projects with best open Solidity code to study?
    3 projects | /r/defi | 9 Aug 2021
In terms of DeFi codebases I'd recommend that you read the code of a project you're already familiar with. That way you know what to expect. Good codebases IMHO are the Curve one (written in Vyper and well documented), Harvest strategies and yearn strategies: - https://github.com/curvefi/curve-contract - https://github.com/harvest-finance/harvest-strategy - https://github.com/yearn/yearn-protocol
