Show HN: LinuxDAW – Quality audio software for Linux
> To my knowledge all VST plugins can be used on Linux (via Wine). Is that not the case?
Yes, although I would recommend Yabridge rather than linvst.
https://github.com/robbert-vdh/yabridge
It should be already packaged in some Linux distros, but building and installation are straightforward. Basically it installs some libraries and an executable which once called will convert a Windows plugin in .dll form in a Linux+WINE loadable .so library.

What Is the Future of the DAW?
If you use the Linux port, you may want to use Yabridge to load Windows VSTs in a transparent way.

Can't switch to linux even if i want to
Look into yabridge. You can test it with your plugins to confirm it'll work. Won't cost you anything.
- New to Linux, need help for guitar amp sims, MIDI, DAWs (A full setup guide).
- qtractor becomes unresponsible after adding vst plugin to midi track
- [ANN] yabridge 5.0.5, with more incremental fixes and improvements
- Best model for FL studio running on linux mint around the 100-140$ range on ebay?

Using on Linux
But yeah Yabridge for me worked the best way. https://github.com/robbert-vdh/yabridge

Trying to get a lv2 plugin work on Linux
NAM vst works with Yabridge. You will get native GUI that way. Protesus is a good alternative with native Linux version and it is integrated into BYOD through GuitarML processor. BYOD is the best sounding guitar software (IMHO), Linux or not.

- Hey has anyone managed to use Addictive drums under Linux? Loading into reaper just hangs and then crashes
- What external vst's do you use?

Migrating from Ableton Live to Bitwig Studio? Worth it?
VST-wise the situation is decent on Linux. WINE supports a good amount and works pretty well now. I've seen some comments here saying Bitwig supports 32-bit plugins natively and I don't know about that since I switched back to Windows a year ago, but when I was using it, I had to use a bridge, and I used one called Airwave, which worked great. You set each plugins up once and then if it works, it works without issues after that!

Two Notes wall of sound plugin?
I have never tried using that plugin on linux, but you could try using the windows version with Airwave, a windows VST to linux VST bridge. Can't guarantee that it will work perfectly, though.

Can a Linux Desktop Audio Workstation use virtual instruments [VST] that are not native to Linux?
There is a program called Airwave that you can use, which allows you to convert windows vsts into linux vsts. It requires wine, and the windows vsts need to be located somewhere on the virtual C:\ drive. Airwave can be found here: https://github.com/psycha0s/airwave/releases/download/1.3.3/airwave_1.3.3-1_amd64.deb

Does anyone have advice for running VSTs in FL Studio through Lutris?
I have heard good things about Airwave: https://github.com/psycha0s/airwave
