Other than that just a bunch of Python libraries for automating work/ making my day easier . My recent favourite is XLWings - Create Excel functions using Python. Really useful for more advanced functionality + API calls that you don't want to have to write VBA for.

Another approach is to use Python to "drive" an Excel instance, in much the same way as VBA. You can do this with pywin32 calls, or with the dedicated xlwings library.
