What about "archived" repos?
In the termux wiki, under Package_Management, it says that, e.g., for using x11 packages one should pkg install x11-repo from x11_packages. On the repos github it says This repository has been archived by the owner on Apr 19, 2022. It is now read-only. and further down on that page it even says *Packages from x11-repo are now maintained along with the main repo in [termux-packages](github.com/termux/termux-packages).
Lots of things changed in few years. Now it doesn't make sense to separate x11 packages to https://github.com/termux/x11-packages - we no longer need to deal with side collaborator access rights.

Anyway to launch vlc with arguments with termux?
* It is not available through the official packages repository. You could, although, try building it from the source code, however you might have to patch the source code and port it for Android; if you manage to do this, it would be appreciated if you could help the project by adding VLC to Termux's GUI repository. You could also use mpv-x as an alternative, it is available in Termux's repositories.

Proot-distro has older Fedora
I don't check the current versions of distributions every day. So if someone find that new release is available, an issue can be opened at https://github.com/termux/proot-distro/issues.
PRoot Distro is official subproject of Termux developed by me.

[UPDATE] Official VSCode Server (Setup & Tips)
VSCode CLI has a package built for Alpine Linux. Use proot-distro or (shameless plug) distroot (a startup script) to install Alpine Linux in Termux.

Termux is an Android terminal emulator and Linux environment app
Folks who want a more traditional linux environment and libraries then what termux comes with might find proot-distro[1] to meet their needs. Basically it allows running an actual arm linux distro in a pseudo container created by (ab)using the ptrace syscall to emulate root privileges. This has a fairly big performance impact, but it works if you want to run arbitrary arm linix binaries.
- Run x86 (32-Bit) & x86_64 (64-Bit) Windows Apps in a Proot Environment with Box86, Box64, and Wine 7.2.2 on Aarch64 version of Ubuntu 22.04.

Can i gain root access via termux on android?
It is a clickbait. The "root" permission in this video is called proot which is to install a Linux container in Termux. The programs runs in container would think they are running in a real Linux environment.

The VS code prefix flag statement is really funny.

Btop is working in Termux (proot + debian) on Android 7.1.1 only.
Btop is a system monitoring tool. It runs very well on Termux, but only works with Android 7.0 (API 24) to 7.1.2 (API 25) without root. (Android 8.1+ will not work due to security reasons, unless you switched SELinux Permissive to be enabled #8566). > Device: Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) (PH model) (samsung SM-J510GN) CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) (4x Cortex-A53 at 1.2GHz) Kernel Version: 3.10.49-12384086 dpi@SWDD5806 #1 Fri Mar 16 14:12:44 KST 2018 Android Version: 7.1.1 (from 6.0.1) with Samsung Experience 8.5 Architecture: armeabi-v7a (32-bit) SELinux status: Enforcing Termux Version: 0.118.0 Proot version: 5.1.107-54 (Proot Distro 3.1.1) Btop version: 1.2.7 (Debian package)

Opensuse login issue on qemu.
Have you tried downloading a fresh disk image to test since you know the password now? Also, since you're trying to run aarch64 opensuse on termux, it may be a better idea performance-wise to use Proot and/or proot-distro. PRoot doesn't have the overhead that qemu does, so if you don't need any special hardware features then it may work better for you.
