With 11 (or possibly newer versions of 10, haven't tried lately) this doesn't seem to actually disable MsMpEng.exe from loading anymore. Using something like https://github.com/jbara2002/windows-defender-remover seems to work though.

What a relief to disable Windows Defender on a 4th gen i5 laptop Feature
I finally found the right tool! (it also disables UAC User Account Control) https://github.com/jbara2002/windows-defender-remover I know i'm at a lot more risk now but i'd rather have some good performance then good security as browsers these days also scan for security threats.

After running like 6 different debloat scripts...700MB of RAM on idle!
For those asking for the scripts, here they are: Remove preinstalled applications Remove preinstalled applications (this one has GUI) Set services to manual (Can also remove applications) Uninstall MS Store Disable Windows Defender As my people in the comments have pointed out, don't run all of them unless you want to break your system later on.

If you are already on 11 and are frustrated with how it works, Bloatbox, Win Utility and Shutup10++will get rid of most bloatware, make essential tweaks to make it usable for productivity and turn off Microsoft's overeach. Bloatbox deletes bloat on windows 10. Just be sure to take a look at the apps it'll delete before doing it, you may be using stuff like OneNote.

Is it worth removing the built in Windows 10 crap ( weather, xbox,onedrive, maps etc...) or just disable telemetry and live with these useless apps for me?
