By Windows webapps you mean https://github.com/Fmstrat/winapps, right? What about Chrome webapps? I remember a Linux program somewhere on GitHub that made websites into webapps, but it didn't have support for extensions. I could maybe do it with Electron but support for extensions in it is limited. I currently use Ungoogled Chromium for these webpages, if only Mozilla didn't abandon webapps, that was legitimately a bad business choice to make...

If your complaint is that you're locked into the Office ecosystem because you don't want to learn how to script/improve LO or because you have to work with files that only open in MS Office but still want to use Linux, then there's barely anything LO can ever reasonably do for you. You can just run Office 2016 or 365 on Linux via Wine, or use winapps to run modern Office through virtualization.
Does my data(apps, images etc.) go over to Linux when switching from Windows?
1 project | reddit.com/r/linux4noobs | 15 Nov 2021
PDFs are no issue. Microsoft Office isn't available natively on the desktop, but the web version works fine. You can also run MS Office via something like WinApps if you can handle a VM. However, for general usage that's overkill, as there are plenty of Linux compatible alternatives, such as LibreOffice (installed on Ubuntu by default), OnlyOffice, WPS Office, etc.

I want to switch my desktop computer from Windows to Linux, but I need to still be able to use a windows-only program. Would a VM work ideally, or should I use Wine?
1 project | reddit.com/r/linuxquestions | 24 Oct 2021
If you really want to make the switch and your computer is powerful enough and supports virtualization, then your best bet is winapps (https://github.com/Fmstrat/winapps) . Basically run it in a VM.
