Is there any game where you can design your own weapons/vehicles?
It is more an RTS than a 'classical' wargame, but you could do it in Warzone 2100. It is old for now (but it was very fun in 2000s). It could be fun for you today. There is a free and open source version : https://wz2100.net/ .

Hello do you guys know a free game to just chill with my friend.
I don't think there's much in terms of managerial/4x f2p games (afaik)...closest thing that comes to mind would be The Battle for Wesnoth which I wouldn't recommend for "turning off" your brain.
