Why not buy a Prusa instead of mod an E3?
I used this. But if I had to do it again I would've used this. Both contain build of materials.

In my quest to eliminate Z-banding, I discovered that the E3D 0.9 degree stepper motors are incredibly well made for the price.
One option to fix this involves taking the Voron Switchwire (Core XZ) route using either the Gizzle_switchwire) or Triano mods. Another recent development is this promising mod (but new and largely untested) that promises to do the same for real cheap.

- I was really tired of ender wheels getting wear-off giving me bad results on my prints. For now I have replaced Z screw to belts, it helped, but I'm still not happy with my prints. Next step is belt driven Z axis on linear bearings, with X axis from prusa. Bed is still WIP. Wish me luck!

Hey, see my other comment. As for the skirts, they're from Triano's ender 3 conversion mod, though I modified them a bit and then made them single-piece once my V2 was up.

This was once an Ender 3 Pro. I used DaRk_dOg's Mod of Trianos Ender>SW Mod. I still have a lot of tuning to do, but the next thing will be the enclosure :-)

heater_fan during warmup, but not during print?
I had my afterburner printhead_front (this part https://github.com/VoronDesign/Voron-Switchwire/blob/master/STL/Gantry/XZ_Axis/X_Carriage/Printheads/E3D_V6/printhead_front_e3dv6.stl) deform during warmup. Printer was preparing to print ABS and the toolhead also sat close to the bed.

XY_joint_left_upper is truly a part from hell.
Never had any major issues with overhangs, but I printed a Switchwire and I don't think it included the part pictured here. I did have a hell of a time with warping on the panel side-straps and front grills, and the settings above were what eventually carried me through.

Can anyone recommend a better spool holder. These ones keep breaking.
The Voron Switchwire spool holder works just fine with an Ender 3 and its about as good as they get mate. https://github.com/VoronDesign/Voron-Switchwire/tree/master/STL you can find it here in the STLs section of the main repo.

Magic numbers on a Switchwire
Switchwire uses 20 tooth pulleys on all the motion motors so with 2mm belts that’s a rotation distance of 40 If you want an example of all the config parameters, check out the config file https://github.com/VoronDesign/Voron-Switchwire/blob/master/Firmware/skr_mini_e3_v2_config.cfg

I guess this is endgame as far as you can with an Ender 3 orignal frame.
However, it might be a little bit easier for you to use Ultrawaffle's Y carriage as it doesn't require you to drill out the stock carriage. With Ultrawaffle's Y carriage, you'll use the stock Switchwire Y motor mounts, Y idler assembly, and Y cable chain mounts which are located here
