For Videos though I recommend you use VLC. If you already do not know about it, this video player has been there from a long time, and is considered one of the best video player of all time.

It's one of those default videos some video applications use to showcase their products, like mpc or vlc (second image in that page, tho iirc it used to be more prominent). I think it's just because it's free to use and there aren't many good animations that are.
After 1 YEAR of hard work my NEW Ultimate Web Desktop Environment is ready for launch!!!!!
Thanks! I got that logo from https://fontawesome.com/v5.15/icons/windows. This is MIT licensed software, open source, best intentions to just make something fun. Hopefully that is enough, but who knows. VLC logo I got from their repo https://github.com/videolan/vlc/blob/master/share/icons/vlc.ico as they are open source. Ya the document changes are saved locally for you on the IndexedDb storage in the browser. So they appear changed when you visit my site again. Pressing the power button in the start menu can reset it all back to original. Yes it is a cross between many things and meant just for fun and to be my personal website as if you sat down at my computer and checked out my stuff.

VLC has built-in support for Blackmagic SDI output cards:
Though a quick search through online forums suggest that module isn't compiled into Ubuntu's version of VLC by default, so you may need to compile your own version:
I've been seeing things about PotPlayer and they aren't good. Is PotPlayer a safe and good media player to use? Does it collect privacy data?

Not sure about PotPlayer one way or the other, but VLC is open source, cross platform, plays EVERYTHING, and the devs have promised never to sell out

What do you mean? Have you successfully downloaded the .zip file? If yes, the only thing you have to do is to unzip it using this software. Once installed you right click the downloaded zip file and choose “extract here”. To play the video file I recommend using the versatile software called VLC which you download here. . Let me know if you still encounter any problems.

As I scan through the SVE Programming Examples and the VLC source code, I cannot find a place to update the existing source code to SVE2 instruction set. Since SVE2 is also support SVE instruction set, the program will not break if we upgrade the architecture to ARMv9. Before I can provide further recommendation for SVE2 enhancements to VLC package, I need to have deeper understanding on SVE2 and the VLE source code first.

Owncast may be what you're looking for. It's a self-hosted streaming service with live chat. You can get it set up pretty easily.
I'm setting a year-end contributor goal for Owncast!
1 project | dev.to | 20 Dec 2021
Owncast is a 100% free and open source piece of software you can get up and running in about a minute to host your own live streams in a similar style to Twitch or YouTube Live. It's been steadily growing for the past year and you can read more about it, as well see a list of other contributors, at owncast.online.
Well today's 30-in-30 took a little longer, and it's well worth the wait! Welcome to Owncast!

I'm surprised that you haven't looked at something else - like OwnCast for example.

Looking for something to aggregate and display multiple RSTP feeds to mobile devices
2 projects | reddit.com/r/selfhosted | 16 Oct 2021
The good thing is that on my network, I can still see their feeds over RTSP. So my solution was to host an instance of Restreamer and serve it over my reverse proxy so everyone else in the house can access the cameras on their phones by visiting an URL. The problem with it is that it can only do a single RTSP feed at a time, and I have 4. I need something to display all 4 feeds on a 2x2 grid. I tried using OBS to compose the grid and stream it with Owncast and that solution, well, worked, but it requires a dedicated desktop for OBS, and that's not ideal for running 24/7.

Yes, Owncast is another example of an app that is in the process of adding ActivityPub protocol support and become part of the Fediverse. I hope they'll be largely compatible in the way they implemented their federation support.
