How can I set my TAB key to be 4 spaces indent?
In addition to setting tabstop and shiftwidth, you might also like this plugin: https://github.com/tpope/vim-sleuth

[HELP] File type specific plugin is ignored
vim-sleuth auto detects tab size so...

What did I do to deserve this kind of torture
Just add https://github.com/tpope/vim-sleuth and never worry about it again.

Learning Rust, I didn't expect such a backstab
At the end of the day I don't really care which a project goes with, I've always just used vim-sleuth to automatically set my tab key to input whatever the current file's indentation is.

Trouble detecting shiftwidth correctly
VsCode has an internal function from auto-detecting indentation, while my config uses vim-sleuth with indent-blankline.nvim.

Builtin EditorConfig support
If you work a lot on legacy codebases, https://github.com/tpope/vim-sleuth is probably more what you need than editorconfig, as it will work even when one is not present.

New plugin for handling soft/hard line wrapping - wrapping.nvim
The primary advantage of using it is that it has built in heuristics for detecting line wrapping when opening a file (with some Treesitter magic for Markdown to make it more accurate), and also allows for manual swapping between wrapping types. You can think of it as the wrapping equivalent to vim-sleuth.

How do I force Neovim to always give me two space indents (or the correct indent) everywhere.
I just found about Tim Pope's sleuth: https://github.com/tpope/vim-sleuth It supports editorconfig but it also seems to have just better heuristics when an editorconfig file isn't present, so I just decided to replace `editorconfig-vim` with it.

Treesitter with vim-polyglot for indentation
I’ve been using tpope’s vim-sleuth. According to the readme, polyglot uses an optimized version of this plugin.

Noobie Needs a Nudge
A couple nice quality of life plugins would be: Comment (which lets you use a keybinding to comment/uncomment things), Autopairs (which will make the paired brackets/parentheses/etc.), and Rainbow2 (which color-matches the pairs if things like parentheses).

Set it and forget it plugins?
abecodes/tabout.nvim windwp/nvim-autopairs
-
mini.files - navigate and manipulate file system (with column view and editing text)
As an example, I give a slight edge to windwp/nvim-autopairs because it can turn 'test' into {'test'} just by pressing { instead of me having to use surround with something like gzaa'{

What's your solution to move between " "?

When pressing completing the suggestion for a method using `cmp` and `LSP`, is possible to have the arguments in the the completion?
I think I have two plugins that affect this -- nvim-autopairs and cmp
- Awkwardness when typing in '\n' or '\t' or (...) [...] etc. -- (Have others noticed this too?) -- (is there a better way?)

UPDATE: autoclose.nvim - A minimalist autoclose plugin for Neovim written in 100% Lua.
Out of curiosity, how is this different from nvim-autopairs ?
-
NeoVim Users: how do I have color highlighted matching do-end pairs. And how to automatically insert end after do?
Could try https://github.com/windwp/nvim-autopairs and make sure you have treesitter setup with nvim-treesitter and the elixir parser installed.

Auto-pair
Hi everyone! I'm all new to neovim and I was trying to install the "auto-pairs" plugin, (https://github.com/windwp/nvim-autopairs), unfortunately, it seems that the plugin won't work, I tried and install the last version of lua but nothing seems to do, how can I make it work?
What are some alternatives?

pear-tree - A Vim auto-pair plugin that supports multi-character pairs, intelligent matching, and more
nvim-treesitter - Nvim Treesitter configurations and abstraction layer
emmet-ls - Emmet support based on LSP.
vim-polyglot - A solid language pack for Vim.
vim-python-pep8-indent - A nicer Python indentation style for vim.
