PSA: Avoid Shockbyte for renting game servers!
If you are considering running on aws directly.. I would seriously look at running one of the valheim docker images( https://github.com/rileydakota/valheim-ecs-fargate-cdk ) that runs on aws ecs/fargate service.. That is my next project is to set it all up on ecs and transfer the world that I already have that is running on an ec2 instance..

What can make you switch from a third-party hosting provider to a self-hosted dedicated server? Or vice-versa?
Personally I'm using https://hub.docker.com/r/lloesche/valheim-server because it does everything I need autobackups, autoupdates of the Valheim server when nobody is on, deploys in a container, and probably more I'm not thinking of! :)

How do I run Valheim Plus with lloesche's valheim-server-docker?
I have a Docker container set up as my Valheim server with https://github.com/lloesche/valheim-server-docker. I don't know much about Docker, but I know how to use `docker container start [id]` and `docker container stop [id]` to start and stop it.
