Protect Video Timelapse in HD?
I've had great success with https://github.com/danielfernau/unifi-protect-video-downloader. Downloaded about 9 months of 8hr/day to do a construction timelapse.

Network storage with Dream Machine Pro SE?
I assume you are talking about the Protect video files being limited by the single hard drive in the UDM Pro SE. I have a cloudKey Gen plus so the drive is a 2.5". I put a 4 TB SSD in it which gives me about 30 days. For archival (90+ days) I independently record the RTSP streams to a computer that archives onto a Synology NAS with a couple of 12 TB spinners. It's not rocket science... just a bunch of bash scripts and ffmpeg. For a more professional method would check out this: https://github.com/danielfernau/unifi-protect-video-downloader

UniFi Protect is Trash - Ubiquiti should feel ashamed.
Motion events would at least make it function in a act of god event. As is, takes more or less a hack to get that data -> https://github.com/danielfernau/unifi-protect-video-downloader

SS: Events triggered no matter the detection zone specified
I second this approach. Action rules are pretty versatile thankfully. Personally I have setup event detections through DeepStack AI so I only get notified on specific objects. This is how I did it: https://github.com/djdd87/SynoAI/

Is there anyway to pass the unifi camera stream through ai object detector?
I run my various camera streams through SynoAI ( https://github.com/djdd87/SynoAI ), which is built on Surveillance Station, on my Synology NAS.
- NVR alternative to BI
- Synology Surveillance Station update: Version: 9.0.0-7656
- Advanced video anlytics (especially people counting) without Deep Learning NVR
- Cool Interop: Surveillance Station with DeepStack AI for object recognition
- For those of you that use Surveillance Station without access to the deep learning features, how do you avoid motion detection alerts when cameras switch from regular to infrared or vice-versa?
What are some alternatives?
