What’s the best free email service in your opinion?
I am currently using Tutanota, I've got no issues so far. It is a good start for free, open-source and have the option for you to add YubiKey as your 2FA(U2F/WebAuthn).

If you pay allot for the service, you might want to consider the more transparent alternatives like Tutanota or SimpleLogin for reliability reasons. Also Lavabit is back as an option for those who need a provider that goes above and beyond to defend your data.

Not sure how it compares, I set up self hosted matomo (originally named piwik) and it's been running without issue since 2013 or so. https://github.com/matomo-org/matomo. Only useful if what you're running is on php. Probably would've picked a stack today.
