truckersmp-cli VS CDDA-Game-Launcher

i was trying to install truckersmp on linux and i saw quite a few people recommending truckersmp-cli, it's asking me my steam password and steam guard code and i was wondering if i could trust it

I play euro truck simulator 2, using truckersmp-cli (https://github.com/truckersmp-cli/truckersmp-cli). In a provided example of a config file, it says that it can start with a popular overwolf overlay called Trucky, however I can't seem to get it to work. I am not sure if it is because I am linking to the trucky installer, rather than the executable that runs the program, but it won't install anyway running it with wine. I don't know if overwolf overlays can work, but I hope someone here can help me out. Thanks

There's also truckersmp-cli, which provides a way to use TruckersMP in Proton. I've been using it for a while, works pretty good.

I don't know what launcher people use, but this file on this one defines the cdda repo urls: https://github.com/remyroy/CDDA-Game-Launcher/blob/master/cddagl/constants.py You could probably just changes that file to use tish urls.

I highly recommend using a launcher, like the CDDA Launcher (which is not being updated anymore but still works well), or Catapult. These will not only launch the game, but will allow you to easily manage tilesets, soundpacks, save backups, etc.

Also, the game is 100% free. Gets multiple experimental updates daily (open-source). And has a fairly extensive modding scene with multiple tileset options to play with. You can grab the launcher here and it will let you download everything you need to start messing around.
