Now you need a gps device, one that's supported by traccar - https://www.traccar.org/devices/. I suggest getting one that's capable of making http requests because it's easier to integrate with traccar (for this you'll need a sim card with data), compared to going with an SMS route where you need a way for your server to receive SMS texts.

I would recommend you use Prey and purchase the paid version. It gives you exact locations powered by GPS along with pictures taken through your webcam everytime someone uses it.

Look at https://preyproject.com/. I've been using it for years. Luckily, only had one time where we thought a laptop was stolen. It's not as easy to provision with PPPC security now, but it still works.

Look at the Prey Project app (https://preyproject.com/), which has extra features in case someone steals the phone. But it can also just ring a loud sound to find the phone when it goes missing.

Also you can lowjack the stuff with . prey https://preyproject.com That's a free app that allows you local, lock, control and even get your data off a stolen computer, it even allows you to take pictures of the bozo's that have it so you can ID them with the cops. highly recommended.
