Pulumi or Terraform?
2 projects | reddit.com/r/Terraform | 12 Sep 2022
https://www.terraform.io/cdktf you meant ? It’s now GA. I was in a French event debating on Pulumi vs Terraform, and for me it’s clear: Pulumi is for full dev team, terraform is for DevOps teams with ops managing infra. It’s hard to write good readable infrastructure code with something else than a DSL

Typescript has a better type checker/type system over HCL (and IDE ergonomics), and it works pretty damn well in IaC .

Terraform CDK does just that: https://www.terraform.io/cdktf
Is there any service from gcp or third party which is similar to AWS CDK ? I am fluent in python to write any scripts which generate the templates , hence in need of such a service

The CDK for Terraform went GA today (https://www.terraform.io/cdktf and https://www.hashicorp.com/blog/cdk-for-terraform-now-general...). It's a framework that extends the capabilities of CDK so that you can use the whole Terraform ecosystem of providers and modules.
Under the hood it means that the `cdktf synth` command ultimately generates Terraform configuration that can be executed like any other Terraform config. It's definitely not a case of Terraform trying to be like CDK. Each has it's strengths, choose whichever makes the most sense for your workflow.
`Depends_on` in Terraform Providers

Yes, a lot can be automated with CUE and it would work similarly to tfcdk, which could potentially solve a lot of multistage deployment issues by manually managing multiple dependent terraform states.
Having unified terraform state on the other hand would help with static analysis and dependency tracking.
There are also fairly interesting Operator Designs, where Kudo like operators could be replaced with the respective terraform modules in terms of consul-terraform-sync.
