This open source game is being marked as proprietary
It's a modied bsd license from what I see. https://github.com/teeworlds/teeworlds/blob/master/license.txt

The spawned process exits almost immediately
The problem is that some games start without issues and stay alive and others exit with exit code 1 immediately. For example, Teeworlds 0.7.5 ( teeworlds.com ) works just fine but Battle for Wesnoth 1.16.6 ( wesnoth.itch.io/battle-for-wesnoth ) doesn't.

Richard Stallman – “The state of the Free Software movement” – April 13, 2022
Richard Stallman has a policy of putting his non-engineering works under a non-libre license (CC-BY-ND 3.0) [0] [1], so maybe he wouldn't have a problem with this non-libre game as the underlying code is libre, just not the assets.
In my opinion, this is one of the problems with Stallman's "moral authority" approach to the FSF. I would very much like to hear about these cases where a game's source is libre licensed but not it's content and see what Stallman actually has to say about it.
Not for nothing, but there are many network/online games that have both source and content libre licensed. Here are a few:
* Teeworlds - https://www.teeworlds.com/
* Minetest - https://www.minetest.net/
* Battle for Wesnoth - https://github.com/wesnoth/wesnoth
I'm sure there are many others of note but those are just the few that I have at least some passing familiarity with.

Almost Always Unsigned
The patch is completely bogus:
https://github.com/teeworlds/teeworlds/commit/4d529dcd2d0102...
Here it tries to avoid overflow by assigning the result of 32 bit arithmetic to a 64 bit type. That's a common mistake.

What is your favourite open source game(s)?
Wesnoth, obviously: https://www.wesnoth.org/

So my main source of gaming is an 8 year old laptop
Battle for Wesnoth - free https://www.wesnoth.org/

What is your favorite open source Linux game? Mine is Wideland (Best way to describe is the way Settlers 3 should have been)
I used to love tactical RPGs, but as I've aged I don't have the patience for them. I really wanted to play Battle of Wesnoth (https://www.wesnoth.org/), but it was not to be. Then I found this gem and it scratched my space sim itch, https://endless-sky.github.io/.

link testing
It's a tough one to recommend for, that fanless system tends to overheat just being on, much less running anything, from all I've read. I'd probably stick with some basics like ADOM, FreeCiv, Battle for Wesnoth, etc. (all three are free by the way). Those games are non-system intensive so shouldn't put too much pressure on it to run them, and turn-based so you don't have to worry about lag. Looking for a bit more action, give the demo for Torchlight a go, see how the system handles it. Should be capable enough but with heat issues it could put a crimp in the play. Similar with Windows (Bedrock) edition Minecraft, give the free trial a go and see what's what. Fez, Bastion, Braid, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Beyond Good & Evil, Commandos 2+3, Deus Ex, Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Empire Earth, Europa Universalis II, Fallout 1/2/Tactics, Fate, FlatOut 2, Gothic 2, Ground Control, Hearts of Iron, Hitman 3: Contracts, Homeworld (the classic version, comes with the remastered), IL-2 Sturmovik, Jagged Alliance 2, Machinarium, Majesty, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Mount & Blade, Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, Planescape: Torment, Praetorians, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Quake 1-3, Rayman 2, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Shadow Warrior Classic, Sid Meier’s Civilization III (or give Freeciv a go instead), Silent Storm, SimCity 4 Deluxe, Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, Starcraft (original, it's the free one), System Shock 2, The Curse of Monkey Island, The Settlers IV, Theme Hospital, Thief, Thief 2, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, Tomb Raider II, should run on that.

Aos gamers
Eu acho que dá pra colocar Battle for Wesnoth ou OpenSpades como equivalentes ao Xadrez por serem open source, mas não o League of Legends ou o Free Fire.

The spawned process exits almost immediately
Maybe look at https://github.com/wesnoth/wesnoth/blob/2534c6184ef4c8a928c888fdebddcbbd0f97cdbb/src/wesnoth.cpp around line 1045. Maybe what it says about the command line switches, and forcing a Windows console to be attached, will be helpful. You may be able to run it with a set of switches that mean it doesn't need to be a TTY or whatever a Windows console is.
