Indeed, utilities like zoxide which operate primarily as a cd replacement don't attempt to change directories via rust code - they create a shell alias that ultimately invokes a shell builtin to do it.

autojump - A cd command that learns - easily navigate directories from the command line
cheat - cheat allows you to create and view interactive cheatsheets on the command-line. It was designed to help remind *nix system administrators of options for commands that they use frequently, but not frequently enough to remember.
