I looked up some alternatives, and this might work. Worth a try

Some alternatives for Android are Tachiyomi OCR and Kaku

Some people seem to be having trouble installing the app, especially in older android versions. Did uninstalling tachiyomi work? If not, it would be great if you could create an issue on github detailing the problem

Enables scanning of manga with Yomichan https://github.com/kha-white/mokuro

You can use mokuro on any manga you have in digital form to turn the text into selectable text and read it in a PDF reader of your choice. You can then combine this with the Yomichan browser extension and dictionaries of your choice to allow you to instantly look up any unknown word you encounter when reading manga, with a single button press.

Either go the mokuro way or just use manga_ocr

For manga, you can use mokuro but it does require quite a fast computer if you are dealing with a big amount of chapters/volumes and it is a bit complicated to use for a non-tech-user, if you are having trouble setting it i would just recommend using bilingualmanga.net (you can hoover over the words on this one) or mangareader(dot)to

There's wonderful, free tools allowing you to use Yomichan on any LNs you have in .epub format (like ttu reader), visual novels (like Textractor), and even scan the text on any manga in digital format (using mokuro). And since this uses Yomichan, this means you can create one-click-flashcards while enjoying LNs, VNs, and manga.
