TabFS – a browser extension that mounts the browser tabs as a filesystem
I have a extension that does that almost pretty identically to what you are looking for... it does list out every page you have but doesn't list the url. there is an unreleased version that I use that has a tab dumping to json that I use for just that session restore reason.
Maybe I'll finish the updated version and release it soon.
feel free to check it out: https://github.com/fiveNinePlusR/tabist

My Bad Habit of Hoarding Information
I wrote a little webext to help me find tabs in a visual way grouped by window. middle click closes the tab and left click brings the tab you click on to the forefront. It's simple but something I use many times every day.
feel free to try it out:

Overcoming Tab Overload
for a lot of people you search for something to solve a problem. for instance debugging an issue. you middle click on a bunch of promising tabs and then go through them. if there is some useful information on that page you leave it open but it's rare that it's the only thing you need to know to solve your problem. another use is some API you need to use so you'd open up a bunch of tabs on the functions you are exploring how you need to use them.
I also separate the issue by window too and also use tabs and windows as temporary bookmarks really. not worthy of a full bookmark but not finished with.
I created an webextension to deal with handling those tabs because having a bunch of tabs across a bunch of windows is not the most ergonomic without one. might be useful for someone here I suppose: https://github.com/fiveNinePlusR/tabist

TabFS: Mount the Browser Tabs as a Filesystem
I am like your friend... basically tabs are a "working memory" that you don't want to store permanently in bookmarks. each window or sets of windows is typically a different topic that is being research on with a bunch of middle clicks to open tabs. I have so many open that I wrote a small webext for it that shows a page of all your tabs that you can click on to navigate to that tab with a click. just a nicer interface to see all the windows open and all the tabs. https://github.com/fiveNinePlusR/tabist

> TLDR: The old maintainer appears to have sold the extension to parties unknown, who have malicious intent to exploit the users of this extension in advertising fraud, tracking, and more. In v7.1.8 of the extension (published to the web store but NOT to GitHub), arbitrary code was executed from a remote server, which appeared to be used to commit a variety of tracking and fraud actions. After Microsoft removed it from Edge for malware, v7.1.9 was created without this code: that has been the code distributed by the web store since November, and it does not appear to load the compromised script. However, the malicious maintainer remains in control, however, and can introduce an update at any time. It further appears that, while v7.1.9 was what was listed on the store, those who had the hostile v7.1.8 installed did NOT automatically receive the malware-removing update, and continued running the hostile code until Google force-disabled the extension.

Behold the Android-Windows ecosystem.
Long ass comment: That is not true for the most part. While the increased amount of individuals working of an OSS project may lead to better vulnerability detection according to both parties of the closed-source/proprietary debate, it doesn't lead to a massively more secure software overall. Not all reviewers have the similar experience or expertise and, because of it, not everyone will be able to review, identify or patch any flaws or vulnerability of a specific software since it may require other skills beyond just basic programming skills such as network or cryptographic skills. [1] Some even suggested that the large number of users contributing to the project can lead people "into a false sense of security." [2] Overall, some papers conclude that being an open source software or a proprietary software isn't an important factor for security and suggest considering other factors, such as the particular vendor/maintainer that controls the entire process. [3] After all, what if the maintainer decides to sabotage their own code? What if the project was sold to another maintainer for its own shaddy needs?

99.5% of Black Friday ‘deals’ cheaper or the same price at other times of the year
I don't feel like typing out entire paragraphs about this, though, especially since another user has already done so on the extension's GitHub page. (The new owner doesn't seem to care much about what people say on there.) https://github.com/greatsuspender/thegreatsuspender/issues/1263

Ask HN: What tech job would let me get away with the least real work possible?
> In today's world, I have yet to see something which is not monetizable.
This is the attitude that causes people like the author of The Great Suspender to sell out and betray the trust of everyone.
https://github.com/greatsuspender/thegreatsuspender/issues/1...
I believe that uBlock Origin fundamentally cannot be monetized without violating the spirit of the extension itself. It's meant to fight back against predatory monetization practices. We can only hope that gorhill will never believe the mantra that anything can be monetized if you just put your mind to it.
