The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Hello everyone! I've been looking into some cryptos to load up on while everything is crashing and I found HBAR and i have some questions.
The only codebase that has not been open source, is the node codebase with the Hashgraph implementation. The open review of that is currently at https://github.com/hashgraph/swirlds-open-review.
- Hedra is centralized corporate bullshit - a caution.
-
Is HBAR/Hedera a layer 1 solution?
The proof that it is a Layer 1 is just the fact none of the Hedera services/codebases refer to any other networks (https://github.com/hashgraph/swirlds-open-review, https://github.com/hashgraph/hedera-services, etc.).

This was just posted on the Algorand Reddit page. How would you respond?
Hashgraph is open review. Anyone can see (and compile and run.) the source code. It's right here; https://github.com/hashgraph/swirlds-open-review

Hashgraph Consensus Algorithm - open for review?
If this isn’t what you need, then I’d check with their discord group.
The actual implementation is https://github.com/hashgraph/swirlds-open-review/blob/staging/swirlds-platform-core/src/main/java/com/swirlds/platform/ConsensusImpl.java
This link has more info https://github.com/hashgraph/swirlds-open-review

Does anyone know the hashgraph consensus algorithm well enough to code it?
But you can get and build/run the consensus open-review (in Java) from https://github.com/hashgraph/swirlds-open-review

Charles Hoskinson on Hashgraph
The open review repo looked (past tense) interesting - https://github.com/hashgraph/swirlds-open-review - but it is now read only (https://imgur.com/a/Nk0QQzT). The README doesn't note what replaces it, or why it became read only.

Hashgraph and Fantom
Lol, Lachesis is based on babble (same authors even). Babble openly admits that it’s infringing on Hashgraph patent (link)
-
Does anyone know the hashgraph consensus algorithm well enough to code it?
The babble implementation that Fantom used to copy Hedera's patented consensus is there. You can look at Fantom's fork of babble as well called Lachesis.
What are some alternatives?
