Hard numbers in the Wayland vs. X11 input latency discussion
> basically no good if you're any different from the people who hacked it together.
Why would you expect it any different? How can one implement things that they have no need or no hardware for? The entitlement is a bit jarring.
Also I think they merged something last year: https://github.com/swaywm/sway/pull/7681

Pomodoro Timer: Waybar and uair
I am currently using uair integrated in to my Waybar running on my sway window manager. I use it similar to the way I use watson (both as a CLI tool with Waybar integrations), so it is a good fit for me.

"We understand" ;)
This is partially why i use tools like i3 (/ sway). i like the tool; it works extremely well for me; the design has stayed the same for 20 years; there's no profit motive to come along and fuck everything up. it just works. it is boring in the best way possible.

Getting started with Nix and Nix Flakes
If you're using a systemd-less distro, like Artix or Void, you can install Nix from their repositories, since it will come preconfigured with whatever init system you'd be using on those distros. The Determinate installer only works on distros with systemd (for a multi-user installation, which is what you want).

Damn Small Linux 2024
I was looking for a lightweight OS to run on old Asus Eee PC 1005 HA, which uses a 32-bit Intel Atom N270 processor. I installed Void Linux (https://voidlinux.org/).
I may give DSL 2024 a try and see how it compares.

How do I update one of these premade ESP32 boards?
My computer is running Void Linux and it has only a wired network connection. I can hook up my phone for USB tethering if I need to connect to the WiFi of the ESP32. How do I update the software without downloading some shady programs from filesharing site links on my system? I have the Arduino IDE and the esptool.py script installed.
