It's the beauty of such an open ecosystem. If you can open an adb window and extract a firmware archive, you can do whatever you want with your phone. Update a Galaxy from 2014 to Android 11? Sure. Install an operating system that doesn't scan every single one of my photos 'for the children'? You betcha. While it isn't for everyone, discounting Android's short official support lifecycles is definitely misleading.
