SRT, or Secure Reliable Transport, is a type of streaming protocol that provides enhanced security and reliability for video streaming. Depending on what kind of implementation you're looking to achieve, it might be good to take a look at the GitHub page for SRT: https://github.com/Haivision/srt there are a number of contributors to the project. I'm not sure but perhaps there is some guidance on getting consultation/support to be found there.

This project is pretty cool, I’ll tinker around with it tomorrow.

As an aside, I’ve noticed you’re building out your own stream protocol stack (FTL/LightSpeed). What’s the reasoning there? Seems slightly inconvenient to have to “hack” OBS to make the output stream work. Will FTL support be merged into OBS in the future?

If you’re just trying to avoid the latency of RTMP then I might suggest considering the existing SRT protocol[1]. It’s been open source for a while and is well-established(native support in OBS core and optional in FFMPEG). Seems to already solve a lot of the transport-level stuff that you’re working on with FTL.

For in-house hosting, a project like https://github.com/ossrs/srs or https://github.com/illuspas/Node-Media-Server may meet your needs. Ultimately though, you should be able to build whatever you need from scratch using an Nginx server with the RTMP module and an ffmpeg process

I don't know the answer to the WebRTC part, but as long as you have a server with not-outrageously-priced outbound bandwidth, you can install an open source RTMP server like SRS[1], and stream to that RTMP server from OBS. It's really easy, configure the RTMP server & stream key, then "Start Streaming" which is right next to "Start Recording". You can then hand your friends a link, and they can play it in any media player with RTMP/HLS/FLV stream support, or you can add a simple web UI with e.g. hls.js[2] (very easy to write, there might even be prepackaged solutions) so that they truly don't need to download anything.

not flask related but SRS is my go to when i think about media/video streaming

from the configure file, it looks like there should be a make destroy command which basically just removes everything in /objs: https://github.com/ossrs/srs/blob/4.0release/trunk/configure

I cloned this: https://github.com/ossrs/srs into my server and I don't know how to "uninstall" it.
