Listening to Spotify Podcasts without using the Spotify App
Good afternoon, Does anyone know if it's possible to listen to Spotify exclusive podcasts on a different podcatcher like Overcast or Pocket Casts by using an RSS or OPML feed? I found https://spotifeed.timdorr.com/ but it seems to be deprecated.

AntennaPod: Any Better User Guides Or Videos Available?
I 'm not a podcast aficionado, so to say, but it does it's job. What do you want it to do, that it doesn't do right now? Also about Spotify podcast, yes you can't listen them through antennapod but you can import their rss through this

I will preface this with I am not very smart.
"Into an ogg file" is where this stops working. If you program your own game, you can of course point it to an RSS file and change that file's content to change the songs in the game - and with something like https://github.com/timdorr/spotifeed maybe even point to spotify. But that game code would still need to interpret the XML file and download the songs.

[@doughboyspod] Introducing Doughboys Snack Pack! A new Spotify Live show every Thursday at 8:30pm ET, where we’ll invite listeners to chat snacks with us LIVE.
If you happen to find one for the Snack Pack that’s something I’d be willing to test my shamefulness on. Spotifeed used to be a thing but sadly went away. I don’t listen to Dax Shepard but I know there’s a megaphone.fm feed that has been going around that oddly you can get right from his links. It’s like Spotify forgot about it or something.

I built an Android app for Spotify Podcasts: Podify for Spotify
Is it possible to have it create feeds the way Spotifeed used to?

Spotify support buckles under complaints from angry Neil Young fans
Sleep timer? Silence trimming? With other podcasts, it's up to you to pick a podcast app with the features you want -- you can even pay for a good one. With Spotify podcasts, it's up to Spotify, unless maybe someone forks Spotifeed and fixes it... and then it's just an arms race.
- Is there any way to add Spotify podcasts?

How to listen to Spotify exclusives on Pocketcasts
there used to be and it was great. Hoping someone fixes it someday.

Trackers for Podcasts? Paid and ones exclusive to certain apps
Spotifeed used to be able to generate RSS feeds for Spotify podcasts, but Spotify broke this for obvious reasons.

Ask HN: Why is it so hard to download podcasts?
Many people have given their "why," but I'll give another "how".
castget¹ is a simple tool that does exactly what you want, just add a feed URL and it pulls all the episodes. It has a nice catchup mode so you can add feeds that you've listened to elsewhere without pulling all the old episodes too. hpodder² is another tool I've used in the past, but I can't remember why I switched.
Depending on how much you like cobbling together your own solution html-xml-utils³ makes it incredibly easy to script a solution. For example, "curl feed | hxselect -c -s '\n' 'enclosure::attr(url)'" would list just the URLs. feedparser⁴ is a battle tested solution for processing feeds if you'd prefer a proper solution over a hacky shell script.

Episode 130: Arcade Fire Is Canceled, Student Loans Are Canceled, Everyone Is Canceled
Personally, I use castget to save everything locally and then sync it to my phone and play the files with AudioAnchor, but my methods are rather eccentric.

Episode 85: We Have A Big Announcement And We're Celebrating With A Book Burning (With Kat Rosenfield)
Something about the substack migration created a hiccup with the RSS feed that caused castget to download a bunch of duplicate files with slightly different names. I can sort them out by timestamp, but some of them aren't duplicates... :-/
What are some alternatives?
Podgrab - A self-hosted podcast manager/downloader/archiver tool to download podcast episodes as soon as they become live with an integrated player.
MuditaOS - Mobile operating system based on FreeRTOS™ optimized for E Ink displays - developed for Mudita Pure minimalist phone
podcats - 🎧 🐈🐈🐈 Podcats generates RSS feeds for podcast episodes from local audio files and, optionally, exposes both via a built-in web server.
uzlib - Radically unbloated DEFLATE/zlib/gzip compression/decompression library. Can decompress any gzip/zlib data, and offers simplified compressor which produces gzip-compatible output, while requiring much less resources (and providing less compression ratio of course).
Retroactive - Retroactive has been discontinued. You should transition from Retroactive to supported apps such as Music, iTunes for Windows, iMazing, Photos, Darktable, Lightroom Classic, and DaVinci Resolve.
uncap - Map Caps Lock to Escape or any key to any key
