You can mitigate it by using https://martok.github.io/palefill/ and https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock-for-firefox-legacy/releases , use frontends; https://github.com/mendel5/alternative-front-ends or Alternative video sits like BitChute/Gab TV/Odyssey/etc.
Are Basilisk and Palemoon actually that resource efficient? Ran a test with the exact same sites open on both Basilisk and FF, including a 4k video and FF uses much less CPU/GPU, but 30% more RAM.

You can find alternative apps for things here. Any social platform will not provide you with a feature that will kill its userbase.

For content etc I would suggest looking into https://github.com/mendel5/alternative-front-ends to reduce tracking... however... for privacy there are going to be some draw backs in one way or other.
