Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.

Very cool your using my hackline.vim. Got to mention it was forked from skyline.vim, which actually has recent updates. They are two different styles for lightweight alternatives.

Is there any statusline framework plugin that allows dynamic truncation of each component?
there is express_line by TJ (telescope, nvim core) that uses some of the plenary components. Allows you to define each components and subscribe them to pre-existing or defined events. This should do dynamic and independent updation
