bloom VS miniserve

Static linking is remarkably easy: Creating small Docker images is a delight.

As a data point, I've served millions of HTTP requests using it, without problems.

For larger projects, I think that actix-web is the incontestable winner. That's why it's my choice for Bloom.

Hi, I'm not a video game programmer, I mostly do network and web programming, but I do exactly this in Rust and it works very well. And yet C and C++ also have similar functionality. Even if the difference were measured in hundreds of milliseconds, I'd still want to trim down the set of supported formats in my projects and, guess what... the project I most have in mind is an image gallery version of miniserve where I want to statically link everything.

miniserve is an example of an app sort of like that (no SQL, but it'll do file downloads and uploads). I'm currently using it to work on something similar but for quickly throwing up image galleries.

actix-web was the big name in "runs on stable Rust" for a long time and it's what I use, as well as what's used by things like miniserve, paired with Maud.

Beyond that, maybe actix-web with maud templates for writing useful little self-contained web apps? (That's what miniserve uses.)

I actually implemented something superficially similar to my PyQt signals-and-slots, parallel, off-main-thread thumbnail loading for an actix-web project that's sort of like miniserve, but for image galleries.
