You could install WPD (https://wpd.app/), use Simplewall (https://github.com/henrypp/simplewall) and a pihole on the network to block a lot, but it's still sad that we need to do this.

I'm glad you liked it. I allow internet access in Sandboxie and then outside the sandbox I use a firewall (Simplewall) which prompts me on what to do whenever an app wants to access the internet.

Oh I’m not sure what going on there. Another alternative I tried but it was too complicated for me was postmaster. It’s much more nuanced and customisable so try it and check if it fits more closely with your threat model.
