How to copy a file between devices?
There is also Send.Vis.ee, which is a community fork of Firefox Send. It has always worked very well for me personally. There are many public instances available with varying sizes and expiring conditions.

Which file sharing service is most secure? Or: which privacy method is most secure? See list

Is there any way to securely and privately send files between computers?
other alternatives: croc, transfer.sh (both come in single-binary forms for easy, non-root, install if you don't want to trust the "official" relay servers), firefox-send (see https://github.com/timvisee/send-instances/)

Question about secure file transfer
if "store-and-serve" is OK, and especially when neither party wants to install a new tool, there's firefox send, or rather any number of clones (see https://github.com/timvisee/send-instances/ for a list). You're trusting that the encryption is happening, so that is not good enough don't use this

transfer.sh on a NGINX VPS
After whole days of trying to get this thing to work, I've come to a conclusion that the project in the repository https://github.com/dutchcoders/transfer.sh Will never work, unless they update their broken code and update their documentation.
git clone https://github.com/dutchcoders/transfer.sh.git cd transfer.sh go build -o transfersh main.go
I have a NGINX VPS in which I would like to install transfer.sh or something like it.

Different ways of getting data from A to B over networks/the internet
use an intermediary storage, e.g., https://github.com/dutchcoders/transfer.sh, Firefox send (https://send.vis.ee/ has a list of sites) or https://github.com/drakkan/sftpgo. This can be done with just a browser for the sender/receiver, but someone must host the server. For the first two I am pretty sure there are a lot of public servers, but be sure to encrypt your data before using them
