Hopeless at this, just want to run Oregon Trail 3
It's not on their official full or limited support Guest OS lists, but is on the 'should work' list. However, you run into the issue where you have to patch 95/98 so they don't crash when they see the high clock of your modern CPU as passed through VirtualBox. Both Windows 95 (at >350Mhz) and Windows 98 at (~2 GHz) have some sort of issue with that without patches.
- Been installing 98SE on a vm, and have this issue. Any help?
- Immediately bootable Windows 95 (.vhd); hoping someone can run a quick test.

Only Virtualbox legends remember this when doing the Windows 98 setup.
Check below open source project and download the floppy disk image, it might fix the issue (It works for latest VMware with comparatively new CPU). When get this error message (illegal operation ), boot VM from the floppy disk image, apply the patches, reboot. That's it! https://github.com/JHRobotics/patcher9x
