current state of linux clients that can manage 20k+ torrents (~40tb)
I've been a habitual rtorrent user but it feels like it's time to move on - it's also a little annoying that this issue has never seen traction.

Tremc: Curses Interface for Transmission
I know it's not quite the same thing but I started using rtorrent[0] a very long time ago and it still works well for my needs.
Is there anyone who has used both who can comment on the pros and cons?

Torrenting Clients
Better in what exactly? Anyway, rtorrent seems abandoned. The last commit was 8 months ago. Transmission's last commit was 5 days ago. And regarding transmission-cli: "Prior to development of transmission-remote, the standalone client transmission-cli was created. Limited to a single torrent at a time, transmission-cli is deprecated and exists primarily to support older hardware dependent upon it. In almost all instances, transmission-remote should be used instead.".

Running Rutorrent and Deluge on Seedbox - How to fine tune to keep perma seeding on private trackers and keep public torrents seeding only until a 2:1 ratio is reached?
There is autodlirssi function in rutorrent which can drop automatic torrents to deluge, also there is postcompletion script which should help you move completed torrents to rtorrent if you wish to seed them longer. https://github.com/wseedbox/deluge-to-rtorrent you will need some minor fixes on path.

variables for deluge
You should use the deluge-to-rtorrent (instructions are also included) script to move torrents from Deluge to ruTorrent. I don't think this script allows you to move torrents specified by a tracker. At least that is what I realized from the script's description.

Question: Send download links from Smartphone to PC
ruTorrent - I find Deluge starts to struggle when it's loaded with too many torrents. My rTorrent has over 4000 loaded with no slowdown in the UI. It's also useful to keep a separation from what I'm racing (I generally don't care to keep these files, they stay on my scratch drive). I move things from Deluge to here manually, though I have this script that automates it bookmarked to implement soon(tm).
