July 2022 monthly "What are you working on?" thread
Last month I worked on the language ABI (Application Binary Interface). This is where I have made an effort to make modules buildable and exportable (into dynamic shared libraries) to the language interpreter. I call the build environment for these modules the SDK (software development kit). It is a Meson project that supports not just Unix based platforms but also Windows. Before this month, one could only export functions in modules, but now one can include classes also. For me this felt very good, as I would expect of a language to support as much in the SDK as possible of the original script-language data types. January 2022 monthly "What are you working on?" thread
Continued work on my interpreter for [ric-script](https://github.com/Ricardicus/ric-script) which is an interpreted dynamically typed and lazy evaluated language. Imagine Javascript without semicolon and Python without the indentation thing. I build the syntax tree using yacc. How can I support very big integers?
I am developing an interpreter for a language which currently use signed 32-bit values for integers. I was thinking about supporting big numbers, like 1024 bit values. I have implemented everything I C. Does anyone know of any good libraries in C I could use for this? Preferably I search for smaller projects I can build from source to incorporate in the interpreter. I have googled gmp but it’s source is 19 MB and supports FFT and stuff. I would like something that just supports basic arithmetic; multiplication, addition etc.

I continuing with building my first programming language. It is an interpreted dynamically typed and lazy evaluated language. It is like a merge of python and javascript, imagine Python except the focus on indentation. I build the syntax tree using yacc. Here is a code sample where I build an RPN calculator in it. I am working some again on my Ada-like language bluebird. I am making another attempt to use MLIR as an intermediate IR between the AST and LLVM IR (I made a brief attempt a few months ago just to look into it).

I fworked some more towards adding pointers on my Ada-like programming language bluebird. I've finished adding pointer types and variables (as well as the operators for dereferencing/getting the address of objects), but I still need to add the ability to dereference and assign.

I started to experiment with using MLIR to write a high-level IR for my language bluebird, which will hopefully reduce the work of implementing features I want to add such as generics and ranges, as well as allowing me to eventually write some optimizations. I am also considering rewriting my AST as an MLIR dialect, since MLIR provides a bunch of type-checking/error printing/support infrastructure.

I continued implementing support for references (a restricted form of pointers) in my Ada-like language bluebird. I also am working on adding a cleanup pass between my parser/typechecker to handle stuff like type resolution of literals and constant folding.

I continued to make progress on the compiler for my Ada-inspired language bluebird. I will have less time to spend on it as classes began earlier last month, but I still hope to continue working on it. Things are getting to the point where adding a new feature isn’t as difficult as it was when doing so often meant writing the supporting code from nothing.
