I’ve not tried this particular library personally, but react-native-keyboard-manager appears to have the option to configure the keyboard appearance at an application level rather than an input level. Might be worth checking it out.
Has anyone ever had a bug that fixed itself after a hot swap?

I've had no luck using KeyboardAvoidingView when working on iOS. I used react-native-keyboard-manager which saved me tons of work, it's plug and play for iOS.
