react-native-builder-bob VS cocoapods-user-defined-build-types

I'm trying to create a React Native iOS module that depends on a .xcframework folder. The .xcframework folder in question is https://developer.garmin.com/connect-iq/core-topics/mobile-sdk-for-ios/. I have scaffolded a project using https://github.com/callstack/react-native-builder-bob.


project structure generator which I used, during the initial configuration, allows you to choose languages for the native platforms (like Kotlin and Swift).

This is my first go at creating an npm package. I had a bit of trouble so I ended up using create-react-native-library which was helpful. I would love any feedback so I can improve!

react-native-builder-bob seems to Help setting up a lot. Currently building a package with native components and it was a good starting point.

I'm developing my library for react-native. I need to use camera. I found nice packages react-native-camera-kit and react-native-vision-camera I created my lib using create-react-native-library (https://github.com/callstack/react-native-builder-bob)

I had some issues too with use_frameworks! and ended up using this ruby gem: https://github.com/joncardasis/cocoapods-user-defined-build-types

I ran into problems with static vs dynamic frameworks a while back. I ended up open sourcing a solution into a Cocoapods plugin - https://github.com/joncardasis/cocoapods-user-defined-build-types. Though personally I’m not a fan of Flipper and often just omit it from my projects

You may find yourself in the position of having to integrate several different types of third-party tools in order to get a plugin up and running. This may mean that you need to mix dynamic and/or static frameworks and/or libraries in your project. Unfortunately, there is no support for this at present in Cocopods.
