For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

- Do any libraries exist for zero-trust file storage (storing client-encrypted data on the server without the key)?
-
JSON compression in the browser, with gzip and the Compression Streams API.
I have already built this into a small feature in my app, but I do plan to integrate it deeper and bake it into the core functionality soon. Which should be another interesting problem to solve as the app has integrated client-side encryption using Age (rage (rage-wasm)). But that's for another day...

age.el: age encryption support for Emacs
I just added rage (https://github.com/str4d/rage) support, which does support pinentry, see https://github.com/anticomputer/age.el#known-issues for an example of how to use rage instead.

The PGP Problem (2019)
Really appreciate this article. It's a little snarky but it hits the mark and encourages people to try Age, which is a pretty awesome little tool.

Ask HN: What does everyone use for encrypting their personal stuff?
I'm not convinced that whole-disk encryption is sensible for most threat models, but I use the built-in FileVault on macOS (under the reasoning that, at the very least, it can't really hurt).
On Linux, I use age[1] (specifically, rage[2]) to encrypt sensitive files. I wrote a secret manager that uses the latter as an encryption backend[3], and I use `rage-mount` to mount (read-only) views of encrypted archives.

Dexios - a secure and open source command-line file encryption utility
I will admit that the "market" for this software is relatively saturated, that's why Dexios aims to stand out. Everything of interest is covered in the documentation, and the codebase itself is relatively easy to read (trying to understand the source of a tool such as rage will probably give headaches).

Anyone have any thoughts on choosing between this and rage?

What is the best way to learn Linux as a 10 years windows admin?
If your like me. Find an actual use case for it and go from there. Easier to line when there is an end goal/project at the end of completion. Check out privatebin, sets up a secureway to share information. https://privatebin.info/ Should hopefully be able to get your toes wet.

The Redditor's guide to how Kbin works (your what/how-to guide). Posting it here from r/KbinMigration as it was banned.
You're welcome! I'd recommend PrivateBin if you're looking for a pastebin service to use.

Imgur won't work when I'm using my VPN
One of the things that always bugged me about image hosting services is that they're almost never open source. This very unlike Pastebin services where you have Microbin and PrivateBin. A lot of popular pastebin services either use PrivateBin or Rentry under the hood.

0x0: Share Files from Terminal
> a) unreliable
People distributing unmentionable content or using services for otherwise nefarious purposes are used to dealing with intermittent issues like that. It'll get rid of some but not all of them.
> b) applying client side encryption a la https://privatebin.info
> c) expire & purge the (encrypted) content quickly
If your site turns out to be being used by a group that is raided, this will not stop your services being confiscated and very thoroughly investigated. You might be legally in the clear, but it may cost you time and hassle (and potentially money if you need to take on the services of a lawyer to help prove you did not intentionally aid/abet).
Also an end-to-end encrypted solution like that might be rather attractive to users both illegal and otherwise, so be ready for a huge bandwidth bill if/when a sizable group latches onto it!
