RustPython
You are right for the most part. I attended a talk about pyscript[1] (runs python in the browser using wasm which is similar) and there is a 2x performance hit.

Python HTTP library 'urllib3' now works in the browser
PyScript maintainer here - I'd love to hear more about this application! Either here, or over on our Discord (invite link is on the GitHub Page [1]).

Convert code from alpha version to latest version. Where to find complete and precise changelogs?
Changelogs for PyScript don't fully exist. You can check out the changelog in the repository which has changes for the last two releases, or you can see the series of release notes posts I wrote for versions 2022.09.1, 2022.12.1, 2023.03.1, and 2023.05.1, in which I attempted to document all the significant changes in those versions. (You'll note 2022.06.1, the version between Alpha and 2022.05.1, is missing, simply because I hadn't started writing the posts yet).
For the first question - why your code previously created an HTML node but now just prints out the literal characters of the HTML - that was a change made in 2022.12.1, in Pull Request 915 to be specific. You can check out the single-line change that caused this, if you want. Essentially, calls to Element.write() or display() have their contents escaped by default, which wasn't the case before.

After tearing my hair out writing JavaScript the last few days how close are we to Python in the browser?
PyScript started as a usability layer around Pyodide for those not used to working in JS. It's now working on things like incorporating the Micropython runtime as an alternative, moving the interpreter to a worker thread, adding a plugins ecosystem, easier events API's, and more.

Any way to display "working..." while waiting for py-reml to evaluate?

NameError question
Mainly, the pys-onClick syntax that was present in earlier version in favor of the new py-* syntax, where * is a browser event name. It also takes a string of executable python instead of the name of a Callable. So in your case, you'd use py-click="get_input()". (There's a long-in-progress PR on GitHub with more examples.)

Valetudo – Cloud replacement for vacuum robots enabling local-only operation
If you provided MQTT support like plenty of IoT companies do, then any open source home automation tool can integrate! Home Assistant (https://www.home-assistant.io/) have a grading system, so a local-first implementation would give you their highest score since they also really care about privacy. https://www.home-assistant.io/blog/2016/02/12/classifying-th...

How I use "AI" to entertain my cat
Next, I needed to wire this up to my home speakers and play a sound familiar to Max. In the before times of not watching live animals outside, Max liked it when I'd play some bird videos on YouTube for him and they would all start with the same "chirp" sound. He knew this sound meant bird watching time. So I downloaded the video, extracted the audio, then split the chirp out into a custom 4 second .mp3 and stored it on my local Home Assistant instance which was already integrated with my Google Nest speakers. Luckily, Home Assistant's API is pretty friendly, but the docs definitely suck. Once I added the .mp3 file onto my Raspberry Pi where Home Assistant is hosted, I was able to trigger the sound to play on my speakers with this simple request to its REST API:

Philips Hue will soon force users to create an account
Home Assistant https://www.home-assistant.io/
It's a quite powerful tool to integrate a variety of different smart home devices into one location and share them between ecosystems.
I have a wifi thermostat that requires a dedicated app and does not allow for Apple Home integration. With Home Assistant I installed an integration for that thermostat, then shared it with the Apple Home bridge (also an integration) and quickly was able to allow my iphone/automations etc, to modify the thermostat. And that's only scratching the surface and something that took a few minutes.
