Ok cool, thanks! I orginially came across Snort because HoneyPi (Raspberry Pi Honeypot) uses psad for monitoring port scanning activities which in turn uses snort signatures among others.

TekSavvy (or an ISP up the chain of ISPs) is hijacking your DNS traffic and that hijacking service has been causing failed requests over the past 2 days. You should install DNSCrypt and the issues will go away.
