Likely due to running into these graphics driver -> WM and similar compatibility issues and fixing them. The other performance improvements from kernel changes probably don't hurt either.

GTA 5 / Online - Some issues with latest Wine builds
So, due to this post I've been wanting to swap out older proton-ge versions in Lutris for something newer. Problem is, with some of them I have trouble connecting to R* cloud servers and game services. I've tried lutris-ge-6.12 and lutris 6.10-7. The latest version of wine-tkg-gtav supposedly fixes this, but unfortunately my DualShock 3 controller doesn't work with it (tagging u/gardotd426 for this in case they're around). In the meantime I can keep using the older 6.0 version of this for solo public lobbies.

Grand Theft Auto V: Game freezes when pressing a key
I have read that this issue could be fixed by using the runner wine-tkg-git-gtav-6.0rc2. I have changed the runner of the Rockstar Games Launcher to this one. But as soon as a launch the Rockstar Games Launcher, it stops after one second.

I use the Rockstar Games Launcher. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to launch GTA 5 without it. I have changed the runner of the Rockstar Games Launcher to https://github.com/gardotd426/proton-tkg/releases/tag/wine-tkg-git-gtav-6.0rc2.

- Also I am currently using this wine verison - https://github.com/gardotd426/proton-tkg/releases/tag/wine-tkg-git-gtav-6.0rc2. I found it on a post and it seems to work as of now. All you need to do is to extract the folder to /home/username/.local/share/lutris/runners/wine. Then go to Lutris, right click on the GTA 5 thumbnail, select configure and under Runner options tab go to Wine version and select the new runner. It will have the same name as the folder that you extracted. Do note that if you don't find the new wine runner, restart Lutris and then it will show up.
