PPSSPP or psp? Uncovering bugs from the past
This is a sequel to this article. I'd like to give kudos to the PPSSPP developers, as almost ALL of the errors I wrote about in the previous article have been fixed within a month and didn't get into the 1.18.1 release. Unfortunately, when writing the previous article, I didn't have the energy and time to describe all the detected errors, I confess. Maybe that's why the bugs I'm talking about today are still in the project code base.

There was also an option to use Rust and wasmi for the runtime, but although it worked on emulators like PPSSPP, errors occurred on the actual hardware (as shown in the screenshot below).

Weird black boxes for font in system menu for PPSSPP core. I already put all bios/font/lang files in the right spot. Before it was all just blank. Standalone does not do this.
Update: this appears to have been something that broke upstream but only affects libretro. I made a ticket with them and you can follow its progress here: https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/issues/18483

You can play WoTL using RetroArch via the PSP emulator PPSSPP, or you can just download PPSSPP directly.

Best way to use PCSX2 on M1?
I still think TellowKrinkle's version (https://github.com/tellowkrinkle/pcsx2) is better, even if it doesn't have a native M1 version. The most important thing performance related is the Metal renderer, and that version has it, as well as a Vulkan and an OpenGL renderer. I tried Aether, but still has some bugs, and I think the original interface is better suited for computers

PCSX EMULATOR ON MAC
Just use Tellowkrinkle's PCSX2 port for Mac. It also features a Metal renderer giving much better performance compared to older releases. Here's the link: https://github.com/tellowkrinkle/pcsx2. Also, I'm not sure if it would run that great on a dual core or even be able to open on 10.15, but it's worth a shot.
