  • WiFi and Ethernet disconnecting on Asus X670E-E (AX210 / I225-V)
    1 project | /r/archcraft | 5 Jul 2023
I did try other kernels and what worked with me is to basically create a custom arch install. There seems to be a specific kernel/driver combination that works well with the WiFi/Ethernet drivers on my board and I can't just force some wifi drivers on the current kernel (I think 81.ucode is the latest one for the wifi but its using a version lower than that which I've already tested by force loading). For now I'm very much thankful that you can basically study and copy Archcraft's code/packages/configs (and my backups as well) and set it up on my custom arch install though it did take a few hours but I probably managed to restore 90% of my previous setup as everything is already on github. As a bonus, I did use u/adi1090x polybar-themes as well (https://github.com/adi1090x/polybar-themes) and study to integrate that pywal effect and basically add and integrate that on top of the default themes. But its just too cumbersome to edit one by one rather than having an already available distro so I'm still hoping for a permanent fix if any of you guys have an idea.

If you want to replace some components, you could get polybar instead of the XFCE panel and rofi as the app launcher. Aditya Shakya (/u/adi1090x) has great collections of themes for polybar and rofi.
  • Polybar, Powermenu
    1 project | /r/Polybar | 28 Oct 2022
I am currently using Debian 11 with openbox and my polybar powermenu isn't fully working shutdown, and restart are the only two that are working logout and sleep are not working and the polybar config is weird I try to edit the config and it just doesn't work I've been trying to make the polybar be on top of my screen but it just stays on the bottom. I am currently using an already made polybar called colorblocks https://github.com/adi1090x/polybar-themes and I want to get rid of some modules as well.

  • Widgets: which are the alternatives?
    2 projects | /r/awesomewm | 23 Nov 2023
I'm trying to get the most out of my OS (Arch with X11 and Awesomewm), but I'm stuck with the widgets. I would like to create/use some utilities like an interactive calendar, small TODO list, dropdown menu, etc. but using the awesomewm widgets is too difficult and limiting. I found eww but it seems as difficult as the former widgets.
  • How do I get the batteryarc-widget to work properly?
    1 project | /r/awesomewm | 26 Aug 2023
Hello, I am new to Linux (using Mint rn) and very new to Awesome. I installed Pavel Makhov's awesome-wm-widgets pack since that seems very cool and widely used. While the arc portion of the widget works perfectly fine, the actual charge isn't showing in the middle of the arc. Here's what I mean.

    > What widgets are you referring to that you found to have leaks?

    I'll cite myself here: https://github.com/streetturtle/awesome-wm-widgets/issues/11...

I've had similar issues wherever GTK interacts with awful.spawn . Hence my GTK + awful.spawn.easy_async = extremely leak-prone

    Here's another affected library [1]: https://github.com/deficient/volume-control

[1]: No bug under the main repo because they're considering it as a framework bug. See here for discussion: https://github.com/awesomeWM/awesome/issues/3584#issuecommen...
